Chapter 510 & the Dept.of Make Beleieve is Oakland's only youth writing center and the world's only magical bureaucracy. We provide free in-school tutoring, creative writing workshops, and publishing opportunities for K-12 students in Oakland and share a vision for Oakland as a place where our youth and their perspectives are visible and our teachers are honored and supported.We've been working in schools since 2013, and recently became a part of the 826 National Chapter Development Process. Like the chapters of 826 National, we are a volunteer-powered organization that recognizes young people's ability to communicate powerfully through words and print.Will you make believe with us?
