Elrod Pope Law Firm was founded in 1980 by Luther C. "Luke" Elrod. In 1989, Rock Hill native Jack Leader brought a wealth of civil experience, as well as the courtroom skills he honed as an Assistant Solicitor in the 16th Judicial Circuit, to the practice. With the addition of Jack, the firm began to also focus on Medical Malpractice and Social Security Disability cases. The firm continued its steady growth when David Benson joined the firm in 1990. Also a former 16th Circuit Assistant Solicitor, David has used his experience to fight for injured workers in the Workers' Compensation arena. Harold Staley joined The Elrod Law Firm in 2002. Harold is experienced in both Personal Injury and Workers' Compensation litigation and is licensed in North Carolina and South Carolina. In 2007, former 16th Circuit Solicitor Tommy Pope joined the Elrod Law Firm and we became the Elrod Pope Law Firm. Tommy brings over 25 years of courtroom and trial experience to the practice. He is widely known for his 1995 prosecution of Susan Smith, the mother who drowned her two young sons in a Union County, SC lake. Tommy's prosecution made national headlines. In March 2013, Luke Elrod passed away after a valiant battle with cancer. His legacy will live on forever in the mission of Elrod Pope Law Firm. Andrew "Drew" Creech was established as partner in July of 2014. After graduating from USC School of Law, Drew clerked for the Honorable R. Markley Dennis, Jr. in Charleston, SC. Drew joined Elrod Pope Law Firm in 2009 and has been practicing Workers' Compensation law since then. Garrett Johnson joined the practice in 2011 as an associate attorney and primarily works with Personal Injury litigation. Ben Leader is the newest attorney at the firm. Joining in 2014 as an associate attorney, Ben works on Personal Injury and Workers' Comp cases.
