Our vision is simple: PREVENTION is the key to keeping individuals & families out of crisis.WE ARE BUILDING OUR COMMUNITIES' FIRST CONTINUUM OF CARE FOR NONPROFIT SERVICES. United Way has long supported individual missions across our community. We now know that dollars to individual agency services are not enough to move the needle on the status of our communities' health, education or family economic sustainability. That's why United Way mobilizes members and sectors of our community to team up, focus on our success as a whole, and measure progress toward a healthy community not by individual organization numbers, but through the well-being of our children. The work determines the partnerships. Participating partners are determined by the identified need and work together in creative combinations. UWRF funds Interagency Council priorities, enabling our community to financially support Community Led, Community Based, Solution Focused efforts to end homelessness by addressing the root causes and intervening before members of our community ever reach a shelter door.Because most services are within Rome city limits, 706 UNITED focuses on extending services to other communities across Floyd County. Working at the neighborhood level, we partner closely with communities to prioritize local needs; identify existing resources, service gaps, partnerships and potential alliances; and develop a plan. Each local plan is coordinated with the existing county wide plan, evaluated through indicators identified in the Child Well-Being Index, and adjusted as priorities shift.
