Founded in 1999, Bigelow Aerospace is a destination-oriented company with a focus on expandable systems for use in a variety of space applications. In 2006 and 2007, Bigelow successfully launched and deployed Genesis I and II. On April 8, 2016 Bigelow launched the BEAM, Bigelow Expandable Activity Module, in partnership with NASA to the International Space Station. The BEAM is a technology demonstrator designed to promote the viability of expandable habitat technology, and is the first human rated structure of its kind.
