Marc Elrich is running for County Executive because he wants to continue to champion the interests of Montgomery County residents. Marc has served as an at-large Montgomery County Councilmember since 2006. He currently chairs the Council's Public Safety Committee and is a member of the Education Committee. He also represents the Council on the Transportation Planning Board of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments. Before joining the Council, he taught at Rolling Terrace Elementary School for 17 years.Marc has led the way on a variety of issues during his time on the Council, including the minimum wage, affordable housing, environmental issues, responsible development, and more. He is the only member of the Council, and the only candidate running for County Executive, who has never accepted contributions from developers and their representatives.
