Prajjali is a new initiative created to provide easier access to yoga in the United States, while helping American veterans heal from the physical and emotional consequences of combat.Yogis can now easily take their practice with them wherever they go. The Prajjali Pass is a multi-class pass that can be used at any studio which partners with Prajjali. It offers the convenience of quicker access (no filling out waivers for each studio) and amazing internet based software with search tools to fine your "yoga anytime, anywhere". But giving back is also part of Prajjali's philosophy. The Prajjali Project, a charitable branch of Prajjali, follows for the "buy a pass, fund a class" structure. For every pass bought, a class will be funded for a veteran in need of specialized or restorative yoga.There are countless, heart-breaking stories of service men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, or from any conflict overseas, who are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other emotional trauma. Many veterans also return from combat with physical disabilities. Recent studies show that yoga and mediation are highly beneficial treatments for PTSD as well a many physical impairments. However, until now, many veterans who didn't have the financial means to take specialized yoga classes were denied this important healing tool. The Prajjali Project is currently affiliated with Yoga for Vets NYC and Achilles International.
