Là một thành viên của Đại học Quốc gia TP.HCM - đại học thuộc tốp 701-750 của QS World University Rankings, Trường ĐH Khoa học Xã hội và Nhân văn là cơ sở đào tạo, nghiên cứu lớn nhất phía Nam trong lĩnh vực này. Trường trải qua ba giai đoạn phát triển: Đại học Văn khoa (1957-1976), Đại học Tổng hợp TPHCM (1976-1996) và nay là Trường ĐH KHXH&NV, với giá trị cốt lõi là Sáng tạo - Dẫn dắt - Trách nhiệm và triết lý giáo dục: Toàn diện - Khai phóng - Đa văn hóa. Trường có 29 khoa và bộ môn đào tạo 59 chương trình đại học, 43 chương trình sau đại học và 13 chương trình liên kết quốc tế. Có 8 chương trình đạt chuẩn kiểm định chất lượng của Mạng lưới các trường đại học Đông Nam Á. A member of Vietnam National University-HCM, which ranks at 701-750 in the QS World University Rankings, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) is the largest training and research institution in the fields in the South of Vietnam. USSH has had three periods of development: University of Letters, Saigon University (1957-1976), University of Ho Chi Minh City (1976-1996) and University of Social Sciences and Humanities (1996-present). Its core values are Creativity - Leadership - Responsibility, its philosophy being Whole Person - Liberal - Multicultural Education.With 29 faculties and departments, USSH offers 59 undergraduate programs, 43 graduate programs and 13 international affiliated training programs, among which 8 have been accredited by ASEAN University Network - Quality Assurance.
