Our MissionThe Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) Foundation supports the LAFD in protecting life, property, and the environment by providing essential tools, equipment, and training resources for our firefighters.Why We ExistBudget limitations continually hinder the LAFD's ability to secure needed tools, technology, and equipment. Since 97% of the city's fire budget is allocated towards personnel expenses, only 3% is left to cover the cost of everything from fire engines to flashlights.The LAFD Foundation supports the LAFD in protecting life, property, and the environment by providing essential equipment and public education programs to supplement city resources.The LAFD Foundation is a 501(c)3 registered non-profit organization (27-2007326), exceeds Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance Standards & is highly rated on Charity Navigator and GuideStar.
