Evergreen School is an independent, co-educational Montessori school for children ages 2 to third grade. Founded in 1964 as The Montessori Children's House in the District of Columbia, Evergreen is dedicated to the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori, which recognizes a child's need to learn basic academic skills, observe the environment, do independent work, and cooperate in a community. Now located in Maryland, Evergreen School conveniently serves the greater Kensington/ Wheaton/ Silver Spring area as well as the surrounding suburbs and D.C.
