Star Throwers provides an individually focused support service for cancer patients and their carers. We support people by helping them to become well-informed about their cancer and all of their treatment options – including clinical trials and alternative treatments. People with cancer are often asked to make treatment decisions and require information about their cancer diagnosis and its impacts. At Star Throwers we aim to help them understand the information that they have been given by their medical team e.g. translating medical reports or explaining why specific investigations are required in order for their medical team to plan appropriate treatments for them.We also help people to cope with the effects of their cancer and cancer treatments through our wellbeing support, including complementary therapies, nutrition talks and information, lymphoedema support, gentle exercise groups, counselling, writing therapy, and support groups. All of the support Star Throwers offers is completely free of charge, thanks to our amazing donors and supporters.
