Described in Classic FM magazine as "the ambassador of British new music" Andy Garbi's unfettered approach to voice, composition and sound art has gained support from across the performing arts. His unique haunting, filmic style has been featured on cutting edge radio (e.g. Late Junction, JK Ensemble, Nova and The Chiller Cabinet), attracted international critical acclaim for his debut solo album 'The Sound Of One' and earned him a voice residency at Banff Centre for the Arts, Canada (Dec 2009). He has worked with artists such as Nigel Kennedy, musicians from the CBSO and has also appeared on the same bill as The Prodigy, Roni Size, Transglobal Underground, Square Pusher, Jah Wobble and Massive Attack. Andy has also headlined major stages at Glastonbury, The Big Chill, The Big Green Gathering, Terschelling Oerol (Netherlands), Ely Folk Festival and the Trans Musicale (France). In the last 5 years alone he has worked with Birmingham Royal Ballet, been selected twice to represent the UK internationally for music and has won The Channel 4 Film Music Award, The PRS Foundation ATOM Award, The Birmingham Conservatoire Masters Prize and has received letters of Commendation from The Royal Netherlands Embassy for his performances.www.andygarbi.com.
