In March 2011, Rob founded a book project titled ‘On The Road…Where MUSIC Lives'. The project came about when Rob Fenn realized his daughter's idea of a record store was iTunes. To fix this, Rob's daughter, Pamalatera Charmaine Fenn (named after the band Pantera), was given the opportunity to buy one album a week of her choosing. The only rule is it has to be a full album from a store. This tradition has turned into a great bond between them, and let them both discover new music together. In April 2011, Rob hit the road across the country photographing artists and music festivals both big and small. Along the way, Rob discovered one of music's hidden treasures at every stop, the local indie record store. Visiting these stores gave Rob the idea to only sell the book in record stores. By doing this, Rob hopes to generate the foot traffic back into the record store and give the music fan that record store experience that is fading in the industry. In late 2013, a SPECIAL 1st EDITION, 376 page hard cover photo book will be for sale in record stores ONLY with part of the proceeds going to charity to fund music programs in public schools. The book will feature live shots of artists along with profiles of all the indie record stores Rob came across throughout the photography tour. The cover is 12″ x 12″ that looks like a vinyl record jacket. Inside the back of the book is a 12″ vinyl record with tracks from some of the artists shot for the book.
