For Stephen Taylor Sr., the link to the Toledo automotive world may have begun with his 1979 acquisition of the former Walt Pierce Buick, but his family ties to the automobile industry are deeply rooted. Mr. Taylor's wife, Julie, is the granddaughter of Charles Fisher of Body by Fisher, whose trademark has become synonymous with finely crafted General Motors and Cadillac vehicles since 1908. Nine years after opening Taylor Buick, Mr. Taylor opened the Taylor Cadillac location after acquiring the former Grumpp Cadillac dealership. With these two franchises, Mr. Taylor created an auto dealer group that would continue grow through the 21st century. Stephen Taylor Sr. instilled his values and work ethic in his only son, Stephen Taylor Jr., and over the last three decades they have created the Taylor Automotive Group, a dealer group that includes eight locations and four franchises. Currently consisting of Taylor Cadillac, Taylor Kia of Toledo, Findlay and Lima, Taylor Hyundai of Perrysburg, Findlay, and Toledo, and Taylor Volkswagen of Findlay, the Taylor Automotive Group is the largest car dealer in Northwest Ohio and currently employs more than 350 men and women in the area.
