We started Queen of Hearts to inspire positive nutritional and social change in the food system through supporting our local farmers to grow hemp.Queen of Hearts sources our nutritional hemp seeds from American farmers committed to hemp farming and regenerative growing practices. We put extra care in our farmer partnerships because the hemp seed is very special. Did you know that the hemp seed happens to be one of the most well balanced plant proteins on the planet? With the perfect balance of Omega 6 to Omega 3 fatty acids, all 21 amino acids, and a robust rainbow of vitamins and minerals, there is no other plant that delivers so much balanced nutrition in one little seed. Our hemp hearts, cold-pressed seed oil, and protein are fresh, nutty and packed with nutrients. There is no heat process, chemical or water process.... all the processes for producing hemp seed-derived products (hearts, oil, protein) are old-fashioned mechanical... or as we call it... SLOW processing. Why SLOW? To retain the incredible nutrients that the seed was born with. Part of our mission of inspiring nutritional and social change in the food system means we walk the talk. Some people think the hemp seed can get you high - sorry, but it cannot. We work with farmers who responsibly grow only a grain variety specific for food consumption. The hemp seed and it's products hemp hearts, hemp seed oil, and hemp protein, have GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) for safe, legal inclusion into any food as an ingredient.
