Partnership of Ashe is a private, non-profit established in 1995. The board and staff are dedicated to serving individuals and families in Ashe County. Our mission is to build partnerships, provide educational programs, and connect people to resources. This mission is carried out through the programs we offer: Early Childhood & Education Services provides support, mentoring, training, and assistance to child care providers to ensure high quality, licensed care for children in Ashe County. The "Planting the Seeds to Read" project places bookstands and books in waiting areas of local businesses to encourage reading and book sharing. This project is designed to grow children's personal libraries and the love for reading. A Lending Library is also available, for a small fee, with educational toys, books, games and learning kits available for check-out. These items provide caregivers with additional activities to promote children's development and learning.Child Care Health Consultation provides support, training, and resources for early childhood educators to ensure the health and safety of children in regulated care.Family Foundations offers individualized services to families who are expecting or have children under the age of 6. Families will receive information about parenting; child development; self-care; family well-being; community resources; someone to listen to concerns; monthly group meetings; goal setting. We build upon the parent's strengths because they are their child's first and most important teacher. A Safe Home for Everyone provides advocacy, a 24-hour crisis line, and emergency housing services to assist survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families. Education and support programs are offered to create awareness, help recognize warning signs and promote healthy relationships. Through this program we are working to end the cycle of violence and have more individuals, families, and children living in violence free homes.
