Transmission Components (Pty) Ltd was established in 1977 in Johannesburg and was a sub-division of a large conveyor pulley manufacturing company. The company later broke away and moved into its current premises in 1987 becoming the largest locking element and Rigid Flange manufacturer in Africa, supplying the majority of the best and well-known companies in the conveyor, mining and industrial gearbox industries. The company has been the agent of and represents some of the most well reputed power transmission companies in Europe, such as Ringspann, C.M.D & H.B.E.In 2015 Ringspann acquired Transmission Components from its founder and renamed the company to Ringspann Transmission Components (Pty) Ltd, in 2018 company became RINGSPANN South Africa (Pty) Ltd which is now a subsidiary of the global entity. The Company in early years manufactured and supplied shaft to hub locking devices under licence from Bikon in Germany. Focusing on quality and reliability, we developed our own range and have continued to manufactured and supply shaft to hub locking devices as well a Rigid Flange Coupling to local and international customers. Through continued development of our products, Ringspann South Africa now holds numerous patents, which set us apart from our competitors. In 2017 RINGSPANN acquired SPRAG Components, to boost the backstop side of company. Ringspann South Africa (Pty) Ltd sells from stock to its customers who are in the mining industry and other material handling and material moving industries. It also sells to companies throughout the African continent and also exports to the Americas, Far East, Europe and Australasia. The status of the Company in its chosen field for the provision of a professional product is well established.
