Southern Nevada Children First (SNCF) has vowed to address the needs of homeless, pregnant and parenting youth throughout Southern Nevada. Southern Nevada Children First uses a strength-based holistic approach to developing these youth's qualities and competencies. Our MissionLike thousands of young people in the United States, each year teenaged girls are forced to leave home, runaway or are in situation where they can not go home. Without support, knowledge and resources, these young ladies are forced to live on the streets. The most recent study done in Clark County Nevada revealed that on any given day there are over 300 unaccompanied homeless youth, in Clark County alone (Strategic Solutions July 2006). Without someone to guide them, care for them or provide for them, they become extremely venerable to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain, participate in survival sex and prostitution for shelter, food and protection or hide there situation hoping it will go away. With your support we, Southern Nevada Children First, can provide a safe place for these young ladies and their babies. Our efforts are achieved by providing various programs and services. Southern Nevada Children First concerns itself primarily with the provision of safe environments, in which youth are supported through mentoring, advocacy, education, counseling and intensive case management. In addition, youth benefit from a host of activities designed to foster positive youth engagement.
