Rona Foundation is a widow human rights organization in Kenya registered in 2013. We advocate for the rights of women, mostly widows who suffer exclusion and marginalization by both formal and informal systems and structures, and through the RONA Centre, we offer a model for gender and grass root development for training and education for empowerment. We champion for the enactment of a widows protection Bill at Siaya County, strengthened VAWG and other forms of violence against widows prevention and response, and promote participation of widows in socio-economic development and decision making. We do this through a series of transformative workshops and programs with enrichment opportunities that nurture self-expression, ignite potential to drive their own change.
