The National Institute for Public Safety Health (NIPSH) was established to support research and program development designed to better understand and improve the health and safety of all public safety personnel. Staff and partners are driven to do this work because each believes that our firefighters, law enforcement officers and other public safety personnel need to have the proper tools to do their jobs each day - including resources that help them take care of their body, mind and spirit.Public Safety Medical formed the Institute to share the knowledge and experience gained from a database of health and medical findings collected over many years of exclusive service to public safety professionals. This data is used to analyze public safety health and wellness trends and to develop and recommend best practices to public safety agencies.Mission: To provide the highest quality clinical research, education, and advocacy to maximize the health and safety of public safety personnel.
