Homburg Canada Real Estate Investment Trust is a recently created unincorporated open-ended real estate investment trust established pursuant to the Declaration of Trust under the laws of the Province of Québec.The REIT owns a portfolio of Canadian income-producing commercial properties, comprised mainly of retail and office properties with certain industrial properties, as well as certain income-producing multi-family residential properties. The Initial Properties are comprised of approximately 6.6 million square feet of commercial gross leasable area and 1,725 multi-family residential units located in Québec, Atlantic Canada, Western Canada and Ontario.The REIT also acquired the management business previously carried on by Homburg Canada Inc. in respect of the Initial Properties and benefits from an experienced management team with a broad network of relationships and commercial property and financing expertise.The objectives of the REIT are to: (i) provide Unitholders with stable and growing cash distributions from investments focused on real estate properties in Canada, on a tax efficient basis; (ii) enhance the value of the REIT's assets and maximize long-term Unit value through active management; and (iii) expand the asset base of the REIT and increase the REIT's adjusted funds from operations per Unit, through internal growth strategies and accretive acquisitions.
