Our wellness offering is aimed at preventative care and intended to assist employees reduce health risks related to lifestyles and for those that are already sick, to manage their chronic conditions. The wellness days focus on lifestyle-related diseases, providing information on management and prevention thereof. Health screening is important to everyone. It involves the use of tests, physical examinations or other procedures to detect disease early in people who look or feel well. This is different from diagnostic tests which are done when someone is already showing signs and/or symptoms of a disease. Although some health risk factors, such as heredity, cannot be modified, focused education and personal discipline can change others such as smoking, being physically sedentary, weight gain, and alcohol use—and, by extension, hypertension, high cholesterol, and even depression.
