The ABRT is a non-profit organisation for the entire community of restructuring and turnaround professionals, recognising their background experience, specialism and important economic contribution.Whether an industry expert or business advisor in practice, our members resolve financial distress for SMEs and family businesses, save jobs and create the confidence and public trust which underpins trading, lending and investment. Established in 2020, the ABRT's core focus is on the sustainable recovery and growth of small and family businesses with the ultimate goal of economic regeneration. Our pledge to the business community is that when engaging an ABRT Professional Member, you can be confident their qualifications, credentials and background experience have been verified (as presented on the ARBT Professional Directory). ABRT Professionals: - have not committed an act of bankruptcy; - are subject to a criminal record check upon joining;- are required to confirm adequate professional indemnity insurance annually (if in practice); - are required to adhere to a professional code of ethics, conduct and disciplinary oversight through our complaints system; - demonstrate a minimum of 30 hours of structured professional development every 3 years; and - have been subject to reference checks to verify experience and are able to provide testimonials. A certified professional ABRT member has completed the highest level of educational standards in restructuring and turnaround. In addition to having the requisite foundation understanding of financial literacy and legal knowledge, they will have demonstrated a comprehensive working knowledge of strategic turnaround & restructuring management. The ABRT Certification sets a pathway towards becoming a Restructuring & Turnaround Executive and use of the post nominal RTE® (trademark 2113664). This recognises an ABRT Professional's commitment to ongoing development and business competence at the highest standards.
