The Lone Star Psychology Residency Consortium (LSPRC) is a non-profit organization that provides pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral training in psychology. Big Spring State Hospital, VPS Serving the Rio Grande Valley, and the Children's Study Center at Texas Tech are the three anchor sites for this program. This state-wide consortium developed out of the efforts of a Texas Psychological Association Task Force charged with increasing internship sites in the state and for training professionals to meet the needs of rural and other underserved populations. The consortium is in its first training year and is applying for APPIC accreditation. Most "employees" are volunteer staff or interns/residents paid stipends.
