The server platform is based on Ruby on Rails, using Apache (front end web server), MySQL (Database) on Linux. Adobe Flex Builder is used for developing customer facing UI (both AIR & SWF). • Designed the architecture for the next generation of the service for being highly scalable and fault tolerant. • Hands-on software development in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript & Adobe Flex: • Designed and developed a feature that would email a user his/her user id & password (when they forgot his/her user login/password). • Designed & implemented a frame work for adding on-line services such as playing games, weather reports, and other services. • Using this new infrastructure; added 4 interactive games & 3 additional services including a News feed reader, an mp3 player, and YouTube player. • Responsible for setting up software development & deployment environments: Installed & configured Apache web server, Ruby on Rails, MySQL & phpMyAdmin, & Adobe Flash Media Server on Linux. Made the servers secure by setting up SSL certificates, setting up firewalls (iptables), & securing SSH port.
