The Krzhizhanovsky Power Engineering institute (ENIN) is the head scientific institute in the field on promising directions for the development of the power engineering. The institute was founded in 1930 and more than quarter of century was headed by the academician G.M. Krzhizhanovsky - the outstanding scientific and public figure, under the direction of whom the first state plan for electrification of Russia (plan GOELRO) was developed. The basic scientific nucleus of institute was made of leading scientists participating in development of this plan.
