The Universidad Politécnica Metropolitana of Hidalgo based on the Decree of Creation issued by the Executive Power of the State of Hidalgo, dated November 17, 2008 operates as a decentralized agency of the Public Administration of the State of Hidalgo, with legal personality and its own heritage, having as an object the provision of higher education at the undergraduate, engineering, technological expertise levels and with other postgraduate studies, as well as refresher courses in various forms, to prepare professionals with a solid scientific, technological, as well as civic and ethical values formation, being conscious of the national economic, political and social context; carrying out relevant applied research and technological development for economic and social development of the region, the state and the nation investigation; spreading the knowledge of culture through the university extension and training throughout life; providing technical and advisory services to help improve the performance of businesses and other organizations in the region and mainly in the state; providing continuing education programs oriented to job training and promoting the technological culture of the region, in the state and in the country.
