INTRODUCTION MITRA (Measures for Intervention Training Research and Action) Samaj, established in 2006, is a not-for-profitnon-government organization, having its expertise in designing and implementing large scale of projects and assignments with competencies, including research, monitoring and evaluation, communication campaigns, health program intervention, capacity building programs, social marketing, events management and social mobilization in wider ranging health and non-health sectors such as HIV, Family Planning, Sexual and Reproductive Health, environment, non-communicable diseases, malaria and others.MITRA Samaj is registered with the Government of Nepal (Regd. No. 117/063) on 26th June 2006. Complying with the Clause 13 under Social Welfare Act 2049,MiTRA Samaj is lawfully affiliated with Social Welfare Council, and while MITRA Samaj is registered in Inland Revenue Department with the PAN number 302274824, the organization has obtained tax-exempt certificate from the department.MITRA Samaj is governed by a 7-member elected Board of Directors, and is chaired by one of the prominent demographers/M&E Experts Dr. Prakash Dev Pant (PhD) who has led scores of social health researches for over 25 years in various areas. MITRA Samaj has endorsed comprehensive policies including Human Resource, Financial Management and Gender & Social Inclusion that has been developed through a participatory approach. These policies, in return, facilitate the office system to function effectively for managing diverse activities of the organization in an efficient and transparent manner. MITRA Samaj has adopted the approach of establishing a strategic alliance/partnership with local organizations. MITRA Samaj has established a strategic alliance/partnership with 72 NGOs/CBOs in 48 districts across Nepal that connects resources of partners and creates synergies in the program implementation.
