Cobalt Cattle is the fourth-largest cattle feeding operation in the United States, with more than 250 employees across six feedyards and three office locations. Cobalt Cattle is committed to producing beef using the most ethical, sustainable and responsible practices, while also providing a safe, healthy and rewarding work environment for our team. The ultimate goal of Cobalt Cattle is to provide affordable, healthy, high-quality and grain-fed beef to families. We are a critical step in the food supply chain, which makes that happen. So, we harness the latest technology and knowledge, and hire people dedicated to that goal, to ensure the affordability of our beef. Each and every animal deserves our empathy, respect and care. We utilize the most up-to-date ethical, sustainable and responsible practices in caring for our cattle. All our employees and feedyards are BQA-certified (Beef Quality Assurance), and we receive monthly consulting visits from third-party nutritionists and veterinarians. The land, water and air that surround our feedyards provide for our cattle, our people and our operation, so we have a responsibility to care for them. It's why we endeavor to monitor, score and improve carbon emissions. We also recycle, monitor and conserve water from our wells and collaborate with area farmers to do the same.We are intrinsically connected to the communities that surround our feedyards, as our families live there, go to school there and work there. It's our responsibility to grow and support our local communities through initiatives, education and donations. Our employees give hundreds of hours of their time to local charities throughout the year, including to 4-H, FFA, volunteer fire departments, and youth sports. We also donate fresh, quality beef to local food banks and pantries every year.
