During our lifetimes, one in four of us will have a mental health problem at some point. One in ten people are suffering mental ill health right now – that means over half a million people in the East of England alone. The Trust was established in 1994, dedicated to the care and recovery of anyone in this area experiencing mental ill health or substance misuse. Nearly 1,600 full and part-time practitioners cared for our service users in hospitals, in the community and in their own homes, whilst an additional 600+ staff provided non-clinical support services, including cleaning, catering, delivering supplies, ward administration and running transport. In January 2012, Norfolk & Waveney Mental Health Trust merged with Suffolk Mental Health Partnership to form the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust: www.nsft.nhs.uk
