At Indochine we aspire to create jewellery for the playful souls among us while using everlasting tradition. Every piece of jewellery is handbeaded in a small social business project in Belgium. The people who work here do not have access to the regular job market. In this workplace they are able to make a living, create friendships, learn a vast skillset and regain autonomy in their lives. Each piece of jewellery has a deeply rooted cultural history. The raw materials we use are all handcrafted by small artisanal workshops throughout the world. Each of these workshops honours the ancient tradition and craft of beadmaking in their respective culture. African brass, Italian enamel and Native American fetish beads are only a few examples of the traditional craftmanship we support. Combining these ancient cultures with the playful mind of designers Alexandra and Britt, we aim to create contemporary jewellery with an ancient twist. Statement pieces that combine effortlessly with today's fashion.
