University Incubator is a non-profit organization designed to provide no-cost financing, grants and mentorship that enables students to "create their own job by the time they graduate" through entrepreneurship.We are Cal Alums with a passion for entrepreneurship and a combined experience of over 15 years of starting companies, advising founders and advocating for entrepreneurship on campus.Through our partnership with Kiva Zip, it is our mission to identify student entrepreneurs and start-up teams on campus who would benefit from 0%-interest loans crowd-sourced through Kiva's vast lender base. This pre-seed round financing, or "kernel funds" are used while still in school to enable student entrepreneurs to focus on the formation of their business.In addition to providing no-cost financing to student entrepreneurs, we take an active role in helping a new venture succeed. From strategic consulting and mentorship, to network development and making targeted introductions, we are here to help you get a project launched and poised for growth. University Incubator has relationships and affiliations with the campus entrepreneurial community as well as extensive ties with the Bay Area / Silicon Valley start-up community at large. Upon graduation we aim to have entrepreneurs who partner with University Incubator at the point where their business is ready for larger seed and angel rounds of funding or to matriculate into a larger incubator programs.
