Founders, Charlene Chen and William Quach are native San Franciscans, entrepreneurs, business people, proud parents of three teenagers, and donors to progressive causes that are close to home. They created Jarous, a social good startup to democratize philanthropy and empower those who live within the community to address the challenges facing the city today. By taking a people-first, bottom up approach to philanthropy, Chen and Quach believe anyone - no matter how much money they have, no matter how old they are or if they've ever given to a cause before - can make an impact for good in San Francisco and throughout the Bay Area. Jarous makes it possible for individuals to give back to their community everytime he or she does something good for him or herself. Jarous was inspired by Chen's and Quach's children who ignited a fundraising cause in their school. Within a week, the school community came together and raised almost $3000 to Saint Anthony's Foundation in their mission to feed and shelter the needy. They encouraged their parents to order the "Tall" instead of the "Venti" and give the difference to their cause. Prior to Jarous, the couple ran a successful healthcare practice. The couple holds several patents including a patent for Jarous. Chen attended the University of California Davis and Quach attended University of California at Los Angeles.
