Bison browsed unbroken prairies rich in water, wild game, fish and fowl. Settlers soon lay claim and realized "that in order to procure the greatest amount of comfort, convenience and prosperity, it is necessary and expedient" that the area be divided into Lake and Cook Counties in 1839. Here they crossed the line to settle new frontiers. Here they made their own luck. We bring that spirit of abundance to our table with an authentic American tavern experience.
