FAST is a system that installs in old buildings and attaches to existing copper wiring and sends FAST Internet across them via a retrofit versus a costly rewire. Rewires of old buildings are very intrusive, and can cost upwards of $600.00+ per wire. Rewires also generally require every wire in the building to be done. They are a painful process to organize and execute. The FAST solution upgrades and retrofits the old wires to Gigabit standards at a building owner's or internet service provider's cost of about 25% the cost of a rewire per subscriber using the G.Fast standard. This results in a dramatic savings and faster time to market. Comparatively, FAST is relatively painless to deploy because it uses existing infrastructure. There are about 17.3 million buildings in the United States that fit the profile for a deployment. Also, buildings with Gigabit services installed generally see a property value improvement of 3% and rental increases by 8% (RVA).
