LiveSensus is a startup within the Alchemy Technology Foundry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). We are working on creating software that can be used to assess live streaming video and audio quality in real-time so that it can be improved. Accurately determining video and audio quality is not a simple task. Previous attempts have been made to produce systems that rate the quality of video and audio streams. Yet, few of these systems accurately mimic how humans see, hear, and perceive video and audio quality. What makes us different from previous video and audio quality metrics is that we are working on understanding how people perceive quality and incorporating these insights directly into quality-detecting metrics.
