By the year 2020, close to 3 billion people will be using social media. It used to be assumed that once everybody could speak freely and exchange information and ideas online, the world would automatically be a better place.Yet increasing numbers of people are becoming disillusioned with social media. Of 1,500 technologists recently surveyed, 81% believed that online discourse will either stay the same or get progressively worse over the next decade.We believe the solution is to create a global communication platform helping people to learn and connect around ideas. This is Ideapod, putting ideas at the forefront of human interaction.Over the last few years we have focused on building an audience around ideas, reaching 2.2 million unique visitors monthly in June 2017, with over 16,000 ideas shared and over 100,000 interactions around ideas on Ideapod (see below). We've also created a strong community of idea sharers, with Ideapod being used by Sir Richard Branson, Maria Shriver, Marina Abramovic, and many more.In November last year we started generating revenue from advertising and sponsorship. In June this year we generated over US$ 30,000. Our next step is to introduce subscription revenue to the platform, selling tools to enable idea generation and collaboration amongst our rapidly growing community.We aim to reach 10 million unique visitors monthly, 1 million registered users and US$ 100,000 monthly subscription revenue midway through next year. The next version of Ideapod will have an ideas map that trawls the web for public information on patents – meaning we'll be mapping the world's ideas in the present as well as the ideas shaping our world in the past. Our ideas database will be blockchain compliant, helping verify who first had an idea. This will position Ideapod to offer innovation solutions to enterprises worldwide.
