My professional journey started in 2012, when I took a position at Regis Hair Salon in West County Mall. In 2013, I began renting a booth focusing on hair care services. However, my passion was still with nails. In March 2014, I accepted a position with Morgan Ford Spas. This position allowed me to build their nail services as their primary nail technician. In July 2017, I started my own business as Beautify Yourself doing hair while I remained with Morgan Ford Spa. In 2018 and 2019 I attended the annual Foot Forward Summit during which I realized my passion was in footcare specifically. In February 2020, I earned my Advanced Nail Technician (ANT) certification. This course focuses on safety and sanitation practices in the cosmetic footcare industry. At the same time, I studied for Safe Salon Professional (SSP) certification. This certification goes in depth with creating and maintaining an aseptic salon environment. How to utilize aseptic practices and gaining knowledge of out-of-normal conditions and the implications were the focus of this course. I completed my Footcare Nail Technician (FNT) certification in September 2020. This course allowed me to study footcare, foot-related diseases, and their treatments in detail. Pursuing my education further I applied for a 40-hour internship at Premier Podiatry to earn my Medical Nail Technician (MNT) certification in September 2021. This internship gave me an even deeper understanding of the foot's anatomy, the chronic conditions that affect them, and how they can be treated. In April 2021, I changed the name of my business from Beautify Yourself to Healthy Happy Feet to better reflect what I seek to provide for my clients. Currently, I run my business in a suite attached to Premier Podiatry and have developed a strong referral relationship.
