Montreal's contemporary art Gallery founded in 2006. The specific mandate of Galerie MX is to seek out and give greater public exposure to emerging contemporary artists, from Canada and abroad. We organize exhibits and meetings in our 6,000 square foot exhibit space. The Gallery is located in the heart of the Quartier international, the cultural epicenter for the arts in Montreal. The Gallery is surrounded by a rich collection of public art. The Agora, located in Victoria Square, is presently hosting the contemporary sculpture entitled Taichi Single Whip, by artist Ju Ming. It also features the Art Nouveau metro entranceway, designed at the beginning of the 20th Century, by Parisian architect, Hector Guimard. Gallery MX is ideally located between Old Montreal and the Place des arts, and within a few minutes walking distance to the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art. The intersection of Viger Street West and Bleury borders Place Jean-Paul Riopelle, adorned by his famous sculptured fountain, La Joute, with its spectacular iron ring and by the multi-coloured glass panels of the Palais des congrès and its interior garden, Nature légère/Lipstick Forest by Claude Cormier.
