He figured, "at least with all this sunlight, the whole place must be powered by solar."Within 24 hours Abramowitz had discovered that there almost no domestic solar power in Israel. Together, with partners Ed Hofland from Kibbutz Ketura and David Rosenblatt from New Jersey, the three founded Arava Power Company. Five years later, in 2011, Arava Power Company inaugurated Israel's first utility-scale solar energy field at Ketura. Today Arava Power is Israel's leading solar power developer.The launch of the Ketura Sun solar field sparked worldwide interest, including inquiries from over 50 developing countries about how Arava Power could help them develop solar energy. Energiya Global was founded to meet this need by exporting the successful, pioneering model for affordable and sustainable solar energy projects, developed in Israel, to the rest of the world.
