Australian Arrow Pty. Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Yazaki Corporation in Japan, which comprises of 165 companies at 437 business sites in 39 countries and employs approximately 187,000 employees. In the fiscal year 2009, annual net sales of the Yazaki group amounted to 1.16 trillion Yen (~US$12b). Since 1974, Yazaki has expanded its operations in Australia to become the pre-eminent designer and manufacturer of electrical distribution systems and electronic products, supplying the Australian car industry, as well as exporting to South East Asia, the United States and Europe. In 1996 the company name changed to Australian Arrow Pty. Ltd. and with facilities in Victoria, South Australia and the independent republic of Samoa, AAPL's Oceanic operation now employs approximately 1,000 people. In January 2009, AAPL moved into its new headquarters at 46 Lathams Road.
