DC-Air™ is the first intraoral imaging device to incorporate direct-conversion, the latest Bluetooth® wireless technology standards, and a revolutionary holder system to finally manifest the idea of the "perfect sensor." Shortly after their introduction in 1987, digital x-ray sensors were widely adopted by the dental community thanks to their reduced exposure requirement and efficient digital workflow compared to film and phosphor plate systems. However, digital sensors have continued to have shortcomings compared to film and phosphor plate systems, especially in terms of image quality, patient comfort, and fragility.
