The North Ward Center is a non-profit organization with a national reputation for delivering quality services to an ethnically diverse community in an economically sustainable manner. The North Ward Center serves more than 10,500 individuals through a variety of programs that empower community members to learn, live and work productively in Newark, New Jersey. The North Ward Center runs a variety of programs including:The North Ward Center Child Development Center, which provides free preschool to more than 700 children.Casa Israel Adult Medical Day Care Center, which provides the highest quality care, including primary and preventative health care, as well as therapeutic and recreational services to Medicaid clients and other eligible adults.Youth Development and Recreation, which provides year-round, hands-on athletic development, teamwork skills and sportsmanship for more than 3,500 children. The Newark Business Training Institute, which offers English as a Second Language classes to non-English-speaking adults. The North Ward Center Family Success Center, which provides services and resources needed by families in crisis.The North Ward Center also founded the Robert Treat Academy Charter School, a Blue Ribbon K-8 charter school that operates two campuses in Newark's Central and North wards.
