Abacus Architects + Planners was founded in 1989 and has been helping New England communities plan for growth and improve their public buildings ever since. Much of our work begins with feasibility studies, evaluating site options, and preparing schematic design alternatives. Public meetings, presentations and workshops are almost always a significant part of our work. We use a variety of techniques for encouraging dialog, recording and responding to comments, integrating public input, presenting options, resolving an effective direction forward and then building consensus and support. Our 11 person office includes three licensed architects and seven designers with Architecture degrees. Under the leadership of partners David Pollak and David Eisen our staff uses its computer modeling, physical modeling, analytic and design skills to formulate, present and evaluate site and building options.
