sales and production team at New Cyberian Systems Inc. - San Jose, California, United States
New Cyberian was initially a fictitious name for a business game among few MBA students at San Jose State University in 1999. A team of MBA students who happened to be musicians, indie filmmakers, graphics artists, and software engineers participated in the game. They chose compact disc manufacturing industry as their virtual line of business because they had common interests in the CD and DVD products. Having the need to have CDs and DVDs replicated for themselves, members of New Cyberian researched and found that disc manufacturing were monopolized by few big companies. The invisible hand of laissez-faire was certainly not working. Prices were set so high among the small number of players; product and service quality were mediocre at best.; transactions were conducted more or less in car sales style with hidden fees. Isaac Cheung -- an ex-IBMer, software engineer and songwriter proposed the continuation of the company beyond the business game. In March 2000 New Cyberian was founded and headquartered in San Jose, CA. The company was initially run by members of team New Cyberian and its adversary in the business game. With the help of the Internet New Cyberian began to offer CD and DVD replication services in late 2000. By 2003 New Cyberian was able to offer a full-line of disc copying related services in different formats and sizes. These included: high volume CD and DVD replication and short-run CD and DVD duplication. Meanwhile, new products were added which included retail ready packaging such as cardboard mailer, jewel case, DVD amaray case, digipak, disc wallet, etc. In 2004 New Cyberian became the approved vendor of the U.S. Government Printing Office. U.S. Department of Interior, U.S. General Services Administration, and U.S. Department of Treasury were among its clients. New Cyberian also supplies to Fortune 500 companies such as Actel, Agilent, HP, Sun Microsystems, Xerox.
