We are a team of ICT professionals having over 25 years industry experience. Digimaker has a vision to motivate children embrace computer science instead of viewing it as a geeky specialization.Programming, like reading, writing or math has become a fundamental skill to efficiently function in a Digital world. We teach children to express themselves clearly through writing and develop numeracy through mathematics and learn about life through biology, similarly we need to teach them programming to understand technology.Interacting with an app is very different from making or tweaking or understanding one. Programming will enable our children to understand and control technology rather than be its consumer i.e. not just how to work a computer, but how a computer works and how to make it work for you. Being introduced to programming gives children an appreciation of what can be built with technology.Programming, like any other extra-curricular activity say swimming or gymnastic may seem overwhelming for a child. With sophisticated tools like Scratch, Hopscotch, Unity, it is so much easier to introduce programming to children in a graphical, animated, musical a.k.a. fun way. It is time that we stop seeing programming as a specialization for a select few instead help our children embrace it and ensure they stay abreast with the Digital technology.Digimaker offers structured computer programming courses, progressing from introduction to advanced levels, for children aged 8 years and above. The curriculum is designed to impart computer science concepts in a fun and engaging manner.Teaching methodology is agnostic to a particular language or tool. Construction-ism principle is applied to teaching, in which the child constructs his or her knowledge by interacting with their creation viz. games, animations, stories. Courses are run in a collaborative environment which builds a child's confidence & engender teamwork.
