Business Development Manager at Master Builders Association North - , Gauteng, South Africa
The Pretoria Master Builders Association (MBA) was founded in 1903 and the Johannesburg MBA was founded in 1894 and formally constituted in 1904. These organizations merged in 1996 to form the Gauteng Master Builders Association (GMBA). The GMBA went through a name change and rebranding exercise at the end of 2012. Approval was received from the Department of Labour for this change on 12 October 2012 and is now known as the Master Builders Association North (MBA North). The MBA North is an employers' organisation registered in terms of the Labour Relations Act serving the interests of its members in the building industry in Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga and the North West provinces.Membership comprises some 600 companies made up of small, medium and large contractors, emerging, established and specialist, in all sectors of the building industry as well as associate members supplying materials, goods, plant and services to the industry. While membership of the MBA is voluntary, the association expects members to comply with the Association's Code of Ethics and is as such ready to attend to legitimate complaints relating to its members. For this reason, the general public can, in most instances, rely on getting a fair deal when using an MBA member. The slogan "Is your Builder, a Master Builder?" is aimed at promoting the benefits of using a qualified, competent member to provide appropriate cost effective building solutions meeting client requirements and expectations!
