Abbreos is an IND-stage biotechnology company developing a non-invasive and biodegradable oral patch engineered to prevent or treat diseases associated with unwanted immune system reactions ("cytokine storm"). Our first indication is COVID-19 associated acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). We believe our oral patch technology is directly applicable to other indications in which a cytokine storm may play a leading role in disease progression. These include indications caused by other infectious agents as well as those with hematologic, neuromuscular, and other origins.
