The Albanian Center for Psychological and Psychotherapeutic Services (ACPPS) was founded in May 14th, 2014 according to the Albanian Law on NGO's, located in Tirana, the capital city of Albania. ACPPS emerged as the initiative of a group of professionals in the fields of mental health, human rights, gender equality, and education to engage in one of the greatest challenges of the century: the prevention, treatment, and promotion of mental health.The work of the Albanian Center for Psychological and Psychotherapeutic Services is based on the belief that mental wellbeing, as a fundamental element of individual general wellness, deserves special attention. For this reason, the main goal of our Center's work is to promote mental wellbeing.The main goal of the Center is to improve the quality of psychotherapy and psychological services in the country. To accomplish this goal, the work at the Center will mainly focus on:Drafting and implementation of policies to regulate the profession of psychotherapist and psychologistMeeting the standards in practicing the profession of psychologist and psychotherapist.Continuing education and training of the psychotherapist and psychologist.Objectives of ACPPS:To contribute on the development and the improvement of ethical standarts of the psychological and psychotherapeutic services.To promote the implementation of the professional standarts required for the practicing professions of psychologist and psychotherapist in mental health and other relevant fields.To offer training or additional education and qualification to professionals aiming to build the capacities and to increase the quality of services in mental health.To conduct research in mental health field.To cooperate with Albanian and International NGOs and other stakeholders to promote the qualification of mental health professionals.
