Alliance Française d'Austin is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, self-financed organization whose mission is to encourage and develop knowledge of the French language and French and Francophone cultures while fostering cultural, intellectual and artistic exchanges between the United States, France and French-speaking countries. Alliance Française d'Austin is part of the largest international network of language and cultural centers in the world, with over 800 Alliances worldwide in 132 countries and 109 chapters in the United States.Alliance Française d'Austin has a comprehensive school program offering French language classes for adults and children at all levels—with 1500 registrations a year, 40+ regular group classes per week, specialty and themed classes and an exemplary private lesson program.A membership with Alliance Française d'Austin offers AFA members, students and Central Texas a comprehensive School program, a year-round Ciné-club program, a French Materials Library, Conversation groups, a French Book Club, recurring cultural activities such as Apéritifs, Pétanque, French Game Night and annual French-themed celebrations (Galette des Rois, La Fête de la Chandeleur, a Bastille Day Celebration, a Beaujolais Nouveau dinner, and Bûche de Noël Holiday Party).
