Allied Artists of West Virginia Details
The Allied Artists of West Virginia encompasses over 200 members, both artists and craftsmen, from Morgantown to Bluefield, and from Ripley to Racine, and from Logan to Jane Lew. Two events spark the year's activity: the Christmas Sale, a two week extravaganza where each artist brings his work for sale to the general public, and the money raised (a small percentage retained by the organization) is used for the Annual Spring Show, which provides the highest juried competition for prizes and awards, and recognition to its full membership and anyone living in the state who is over 18 years of age. Today West Virginia also enjoys a strong Watercolor Society recognized throughout the United States.
